The Sawyer Room: A few good pics of a gorgeous ballroom

As I was going through some old images I chanced upon these gems!  Aren't they something?  These images of The Sawyer Room will appear in our commercial website later on this year, but I couldn't keep them hidden for that long.  This ballroom is always dressed to the nines no matter what time of day or night you visit!

This is a close up of one of the many elegant chandeliers that dangle from the ceiling.  Notice the amazing authentic detailed engravings that give The Sawyer Room its old-world charm.

This is a view of the main entrance and balcony - a unique feature to The Sawyer Room.

This is a view of The Sawyer Room from the balcony looking off to the right.

Ahh...what a view!  This is what can be seen of The Sawyer Room from the balcony when looking straight on.

A few favs from the Senior Website

Ok, I know that I have been pretty silent when it comes to blog posts up until this point, but the launch of our senior website has really stirred something in me...I can't help expressing what wonderful photos Erin produces!!!

She has been at work for quite a while, quietly sifting through photographs, slowly amassing these breath taking images. Now that the senior website is done, I feel the need to share my absolute favorites with the world....

However after much deliberation these are the top six in my opinion:

A few favorite photos

Hi everyone,
I thought tonight I would share with you two photographs that I randomly took at weddings that I truly adore and love.  The first was taken while waiting for an elevator, the bride remarked, "I love all the things that you randomly see and make beautiful, this is the reason why I hired you."   I love compliments like that, it brightens my day.  It just goes to show that I do more than just what is expected, well that's not entirely true my couples have come to expect this.  Thus, raising my bar...I like a good challenge.

The second photograph was taken in a similar light; a groomsman was waiting on his girlfriend,  who was a bridesmaid, to get done talking and congratulating the bride.  What I found so interesting wasn't how patient he waited but how gently he was holding the flowers.  It was really beautiful and the moment couldn't be passed up.

Rachel and Jack

Here is Rachel and Jack we went down to the west bottoms for some awesome christmas photos.  Rachel will be featured in our Senior Website when that is ready for viewing.  I am so excited it is on it's way.  Jack is a new puppy...Really big for a puppy but he was soooo good.

Becca's Getting Ready in Eureka Springs Arkansas

Becca and Bruno decided to elope to and have a small intimate wedding in Arkansas.  It was romantic, secluded, and incredibly unique.   Marco and I used to teach Ballroom Dancing, we were so excited to find that Becca and Bruno shared the same passion for dancing.  They danced the tango in the streets of Eureka Springs Arkansas, it was like a dream and their images look like post cards.  The dancing in the streets will come later, but as I promised, here is a post from their first folder; getting ready.

1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa

This Hotel is one of the prestigious Historic Hotels in America it has been the choice for weddings and wedding preparations for 120 years.  It came to no surprise when Becca wanted to get ready at the New Moon day spa and salon, they cary Aveda  products (which I love because they smell so good).  And the atmosphere ads to the day she always wants to remember.  As Becca got ready her mom enjoyed coffee and the view.  Her sister got a relaxing back massage before we were off for her hair appointment.  I hope you enjoy the photos.

Talk to you soon

Erin

Where Did Erin Go????

OK, sorry for all of you who have been coming back time after time to find my blog stuck in December.  I was wanting to get a new Blog, one with full size images that compliments my work, style, and our websites....But I am still looking for that once in a life-time Blog that doesn't cost a fortune.   If you know of any please share the wealth. :)

I was wanting to wait to post but I decided that I really can't and shouldn't.   This year I have made some New Years Resolutions.  I am sorry that I didn't really do this on New Years but better late than never.... Ha Ha Ha.

I am going to try and post something 3 times a week if not more.  I am also going to share with you all my amazing secrets in make-up and fashion that I learned while shooting fashion editorials and working at modeling agencies.  You will love them I promise.  I also want everyone to participate with their own tips and tricks that they have learned.

I am glad to be back and working.  I have 2 beautiful weddings that I am working on and I am going to post highlights as I complete their folders.  I love these two weddings and I can't wait to get them finished so that the couples can enjoy them.

I am going to post again soon...

Becca's Bridal Portraits

I took these photos awhile ago but had to post them.  I think that Becca is truly beautiful.  I am still working on her wedding photos so those will be coming soon.  The photos posted here are some of my favorites but her mom and sister joined in on the photo fun and we got several pre-wedding group shots.

Melinda and Bryan's Engagement

Melinda and Bryan met us at a Bridal Show, (it will probably be the last one we attend.  I am letting  those of you out there know so that you won't wait thinking you will see us at the Bridal Shows.) But a few weeks after the show Bryan and Melinda called wanting to set up a meeting. I immediately started to talk with Melinda on the couch in the Overland Park Marriott while Marco met Bryan simultaneously getting coffee at the nearest Starbucks.  We connected like old friends and chatted about their wedding.  We disclosed all our favorite vendors and it was funny to find that they had an appointment set up with one of them later that afternoon.  Melinda and Bryan booked us on the spot and cancelled all other visits to other photographers that day.  As we were leaving the Marriott Marco and I realized that we didn't know how they met or got engaged.  So we took them out for dinner the next day and then went to photograph their engagement portraits.   The photos started at the Terrace on Grand where Melinda and Bryan are getting married and went until the sun came down at the West Bottoms.   After I shot these photos I couldn't wait to get them edited and out there for everyone to see, it has taken me awhile but I really think it is worth it.

Melinda, I hope that the photos are all that you expected and more.  We love you guys and are soooo excited to photograph your Wedding.  It will be truly a remarkable and amazing representation of Kansas City, with your location being located in the heart of Down Town.  No matter where you turn there is beautiful city skyline and combined with your personalities you will have unique photos.

Hey, we need to get together and go out to Terrace on Grand in the Spring and do some night shots with all the lights.  Let me know when there is a good time and I will get it scheduled.  Have a blessed day.

Leia this is for you. :)  I hope that you love them as much as I do, there are more on the way.   It was so nice to meet you.. Finally. :)  For other readers out there Liea and Andreas came from Sweden and we shot their engagement photos durning this holiday season while they were here visiting Leias family.  I hadn't meet Leia until her engagement party just a few days before their photo shoot.  Her family is truly amazing, they called inviting us to come and meet everyone before the wedding.  Leia you are truly blessed and others are blessed through you. :)   We love you guys and can't wait until the wedding.

I think I got it!!!

Ok, so Marco got me.  He snapped this photo as I was working on Adam and Sara's Christmas Photos.  I really like the photo of me working.  I climb on stuff all the time to get the right shot or to help pose.

Up Close with Ruthie.

Hi there this is me and Ruthie,  Adam and Sara's new puppy.  She was so good during their photo shoot, I have never had a puppy that well behaved.  She was shivering so I held her for a while.

Christmas Photos with Adam and Sara

I was so excited when Adam and Sara called telling me that they wanted photographs for the holidays.  I hadn't photographed them since their wedding on 8/8/08.  I still haven't posted their wedding photos yet.  I will... They trashed the dress at the end of the night and they are amazing.  It was Sara's High Fashion Bridal portraits that got the cover of KC Wedding Ideas in October .  Thank you Sara.   This photo shoot was lots of fun.  A little cold outside but it wasn't too bad.  And they brought their dogs who were very photogenic.
